The Music Ministry at St. Paul United Methodist Church leads our congregation in joyful worship. We strive to praise God through spirited song and serve the St. Paul community through the giving of our talents. We believe music can be a vessel to encounter the life changing, transformative presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and we seek to provide a nurturing, loving home to all who are dedicated to giving praise and thanks to God through song.

SPUMC Choir

Our SPUMC Choir leads worship regularly on Sunday mornings. They sing a wide variety of genres from Baroque and Classical choral pieces to newer Contemporary and Gospel anthems. They rehearse regularly on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00pm. Childcare is provided during this time for those who need it to participate.

SPUMC Ringers

Our handbell choir offers music in worship once a month. They also give concerts in our local community. They mostly perform hymn arrangements, well known contemporary songs, and other sacred pieces that correspond with our liturgical seasons. The ensemble consists of 3 octaves of Schulmerich handbells, and they meet regularly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Childcare can be available upon request.

Worship Band

Our band leads worship weekly, and their musical offerings range from the latest contemporary worship music played on current radio rotation to other beloved contemporary favorites spanning the past few decades. This group primarily prepares their music on their own throughout the week, listening to various rehearsal tracks. They meet at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings to rehearse their songs for our 10:30am worship.

 

Children's Music

Our children's music ministry teaches children in Kindergarten through 5th grade how to express their love for God through offerings of worship and adoration. They offer songs of praise in morning worship on selected Sundays both singing and ringing color bells. They occasionally combine with our SPUMC Choir and/or Worship Band and also present a musical each December. This group rehearses as needed during Sunday School, starting at 9:30am.
